Ben Kinsella: Sketchbook @ Copenhagen Youth Project

In Art, Community, Events on November 2, 2009 at 12:59 pm

-2BEN Kinsella was knifed to death on Sunday 29th June 2008.  He was out celebrating the end of his GCSEs when he was murdered but never got to find out that he had passed the exams with a string of A-grades including an ‘A’ for art, providing him with the springboard he needed to realise his ambition of becoming a graphic designer

Copenhagen Youth Project (CYP) were asked by his grieving family to mount a show featuring the outstandingly talented work produced by Ben, who was a CYP member.  The show forms part of CYP’s ongoing programme of exhibitions and social education for over 400 local young people in the King’s Cross/Copenhagen area every year, including those who are disadvantaged and vulnerable.  CYP uses creative work to examine and challenge the culture that gives rise to knife crime.  This cultural programme is part-funded by the City Bridge Trust, Central St Martin’s School of Art and the Home Office, and needs further funds for CYP to build on and progress the work

You are invited to visit the Ben Kinsella: Sketchbook Show, on Tuesday 17th November between 6pm and 8pm.  RSVP info@cyproject.org
